Privacy Policy

Unhooked ("the app") is built privacy-first. This policy explains what we do and, more importantly, do not do with your information.

The short version

Unhooked stores your quit data on your own device. We do not have servers that collect it, we do not sell it, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

What the app stores

When you use Unhooked, the following is saved locally on your device only:

The name you choose to be called.
Your quit date and the product you are quitting.
The cost figures you enter, used to calculate your savings.
Your progress: cravings beaten, streak history and milestone celebrations.

This information never leaves your device unless you explicitly turn on optional cloud backup, or use the Share feature to share a milestone card that you create.

Subscriptions

Unhooked offers an optional subscription, Unhooked Plus. Purchases are handled by Apple (in-app) or our payment processor (on the web). We receive confirmation that a subscription is active in order to unlock features. We never see or store your card details.

The website

If you join our launch list on this website, we store the email address you give us, using our email provider (Resend), solely to let you know when the app is available and to send occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell it.

Optional cloud sync

A future version may offer an optional account so you can back up and sync your progress across devices. This is off by default. If you enable it, your email and quit progress would be stored securely with our backup provider solely to provide that sync, and never sold or used for advertising. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules reminders for your own streak milestones directly on your device. No notification data is sent to us.

Your data, your control

Export: Export all of your data as a file any time from Settings.
Delete: Erase all of your data from the app any time from Settings.

Children

Unhooked is intended for people aged 12 and over who want to quit nicotine. It is not directed at younger children.

Unhooked provides general information about nicotine cessation based on public guidance from sources such as the NHS and the American Cancer Society. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
